Yup, that's right, your dog can be a key part of your fitness routine, and even help fast track the results you're looking for.
Researchers in the USA looked at data from 9 unique studies that looked at the health and fitness patterns and behaviour of nearly 7000 dog owners from the age of 18-81 years of age. After analyzing the data it was determined that dog owners who got active with thier dogs were 2.5x more likely to achive minium targets for moderate intensity physical activity when compared with non dog owners or those who leave their dog home when working out. This research has been published by and is available in The Journal of Physical Activity and Health.
What does that mean? It means if you want to see results quicker, your fitness coach should come with a great motivational bark and a wagging tail to let you know you're on the right track to health.
